Paris Saint-Germain Dominate Real Sociedad in Champions League First Leg
2-0 Victory Puts PSG in Control
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a commanding 2-0 victory at home against Real Sociedad in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday.
Mbappe and Barcola on Target
PSG's lethal forward Kylian Mbappe broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, tapping home a cross from Neymar. Young forward Bradley Barcola doubled the hosts' lead in the 77th minute with a composed finish.
Tight Defense and Sociedad Frustration
PSG's defense held firm throughout the match, limiting Real Sociedad to just two shots on target. The visitors were particularly frustrated by PSG's high-pressing style, which forced multiple turnovers.
Real Sociedad, despite their impressive high turnover count this season, struggled to find any rhythm in the match. Their best chance came late in the second half, but Alexander Sorloth's header was brilliantly saved by PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Advantage PSG
The 2-0 victory gives PSG a significant advantage heading into the second leg in Spain on March 8. The French giants will be confident of progressing to the quarter-finals, while Real Sociedad will need a strong performance at home to overturn the deficit.
